By History prof.
By far the best world history textbook I've come across. Offers a unified voice and coherent narrative throughout. Excellent geographic coverage, with much more than most textbooks on sub-Saharan Africa, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia. Integrates cultural, social, environmental, gender, diplomatic, and economic history clearly and concisely. Boxed text provide fun primary sources and probing questions, but still fit into the larger themes of each chapter without feeling like add-ons. Highly recommended.

Absolutely terrible

I said the same thing when going through volume 1 of this book but these Panorama World History books are terrible. If you end up with an instructor who doesn't help clarify the information in this textbook you're going to be a world of hurt trying to learn and retain what is in this book. It's like trying to make sense of a jigsaw puzzle that has no solution.
